Since taking charge Mr Griffiths has added to the comfort of the rink by effecting several improvements. The final heat of the two-mile handicap race between employes of Messrs Burrows and Company’s boot factory was run off at the Oriental Eipk last night. The race was an exciting one. Turner (scratch) and Burrows {half-lap) bofh’Jboked' like winning at various times; but the scratch man, amidsc applause, managed to gain the lead only in tjie last lap.
