THE AUSTRALIAN MUTUAL’S PROFITS.
TO THE EDITOK. Sm,—Just a word or two in connection with the Australian Mutual Provident Society’s business during the past year, which I consider remarkably good. The profits seem to be the great trouble of this society, as I notice a rccommsn datum to establish an officers’ provident fund, the society to give no less than L 25.000 as a nucleus of the fund. This money in my idea should go to the benefit of policyholders. Ido not for a moment object to the formation of an officers’ provident fund, but let it be at the expense of the officers and not of the general policy-holders. I consider that there should be a strong protest sent to the directors against using any of the society’s funds for either pensions or officers' provident funds.—l am, etc., POLICY-lIOLUFR.
