CITY COUNCIL REPORTS.

The following reports will be submitted a to-morrow evening's meeting of the Citj Council : The I inance Committee report that after ful consideration of the petitions of J. T. Roughtoi and other leaseholders they do not feel justifiec in recommending the council to comply witl their request to have -their rents seduced, am therefore recommend that it be declined.— Arrangements have been made for the reaewa for one year of the fire insurances of L 20,000 oi the Town Hall bui'.dings and contents at a pre miura of 4a per cent. The Reserves Committee report recommend ing inter alia that Messrs Park and Co. offer ti lease Corpoation premies in Manse street foi three years at LIOO per annum—the council tc expend L6O in repairs—be accepted. Th< Belmont Football Club have been granted per mistion to play on portion of the Town Bel near the Mornington Hotel.—The applicatioi of tee Zingari-Rxbraond Football Club to plaj on the Oval baa been declined. The General Committee report that the Inspector of Nu : sances having reported that h< had been obstructed and prevented from in specting the premises of W. M'Leod, Boaj manufacturer, Castle street, they have causee M'Leod to be informed that if the inspector bi again interrupted in his duti:s legal proceed ings will betaken.—The committee recommenc that the Dunedin City Fire Brigade be in structed not to attend fiies outaide the Citj boundary. They also consider that it is part o; the firemen's duty, as well as their privilege to attend in rotation at the places of amuse ment.
