The report and balance-sheet, which showed the club to be in a good financial position, were read and adopted. Fourteen new members and the following office-bearers were then elected: —President, Mr W. D. Milne (re-elected); vice-presidents—Messrs E. Hogg, D. Stevenson, J. R. Bremner, and Dr M Thereon; captain, A. Lang • deputy-captain, A. Bremner } hon. secretary and treasurer, A. Bremner. The first fifteen are to be congratulated on their splendid record. They played ten matches last season, winning seven and drawing three.- The scores rrere i Points for, 46; points against, 1. The second fifteen played eight matches, winning four, losing three, and drawing one. Notwithstanding the abject apology tendered by Nat Nathan, the Wellington bookmaker, in connection with his totalisator dispute with the Island Bay Racing Club, the Hawke's Bay Club declined to remove their sentence of ostracism, and thus follow in the wake of the Island Bay and Wanganui Clubs. Nathan was accordingly unable to ply his vocation at yesterday and to-days race meeting at Hastings. Acceptances in connection with the D.J.C.'s Anniversary meeting are dne tonight. Cruchfield, by winning the Hawke's Bay Cup, has incurred a 71b penalty fqr the Great Autumn Handicap; but backers should bear in mind that Mr Cliffords coif is also engaged in the Great Northern Leger, run the same day. Artillery started in the Wanganui Stakes on the last day of the Wanganui meeting, but finished last. Mr Butler's colt has sinpe returned to Christchurch, it being found that he is troubled with, an old complaint in one of hia hocks, and it is unlikely that be will race again this season. The secretary of Christchurch Tattersall's Club, having intimated to the committee of the C.J.C. that W. H. Keith, the nominator of Dudu, is still on the list of defaulters, the committee decided that Dudu's entry for the New Zealand Cup should not be accepted. The privileges in connection with the Dunedin Anniversary races were sold by Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. at auction this morning, with the following results:—Stand booth and lunoheon room, Ll6, Mrs Nicholson; Booth No. 1, A. Owen, L 6 10s; No. 2, L 7, J. Infield; No. 3, L 3 10s, Mrs Cuthbertson; No. 4, L 3 ss, G. Hutchings; fruit stalls, LI 15s, G. Elliott; race cards, L 8 ss, R. Langley; stabling, 15s, H. Alexander; total, L 47. The Dunedin Jockey Club will reduce the charge for admission to the grand stand and paddock at the ensuing meeting to ss. In what little betting there is over the Great Autumn Handicap, Springton is favorite at sto 2; Silvermark is at 7to 2; and stol is taken about Cruchfield. For the double (Hurdles and Autumn), 10 to 1 on the field is offered. An attempt on the part of the bookmakers of the Victorian Club to alter the rale affecting starters has been frustrated. The proposal was that if a jockey weighed out for a horse and the horse did not start' backers should pay. After some discussion, a division took place, and the proposition was lost by about 180 to 84.
