SPORTING INTELLIGENCE.

Good weather is all that is wanted to make the Carisbrook annual sport meeting a pleasant and successful one. The entries, though fewer than last year, embrace most of our leading amateurs, and as the handicaps are not, apparently, too liberal, close finishes should result. The bicycle events are well taken up, and, with the pony races, should help to keep up the interest and afford good amusement. The flat races will be started by Mr J, Mallard, the pony races by Mr Dowse. The sports will commence at 2 p.m. sharp, and the following are additional entries :
