Smith, asking the Council to give efleet to its previous resolution respecting the Church street culvert, he complied with ; that, in reply to the letter from the Dunedin City Council asking tho Roslyn Council to pay half the cost of repaira on the Town Belt road from tho Robin _ flood miarrv, the clerk was instructed to inform the City Council that the Roslyn Council did not feel justified in paying a portion of the cost of repairing roads on the J own Bolt. The Mayor said Hiat the Roslyn Council had nothing to do with this road ; it was a city road. There was no doubt that if an accident happened there the City Corporation would be liable if they did not keep it in repair. The report was adopted.—l he Finance Committee reported that the overdraft to the Colonial Bank on February 12 amounted to L 593. The receipts for rates and other sources during the past four weeks had been L 177 Ms 4d. Tho Committee recommended the payment of accounts amounting to 1.107 12s ml. The Mayor pointed out that tho overdraft was Lhlo. Tho report was adopted.—Cr J. -j ■ Blanchan forwarded Ids resignation, having gone to Christchurch. It was accepted.
