At the Police Court to-day Robert Sloan was charged with stealing a swag, which contained clothing, mostly old articles, belonging to himself and mate. The meii had come from Dunedin, and had had a common purse. The prosecutor said he desired to withdraw the charge, which had been made on the spur of the moment. He did hot now believe for a moment that the articles had been stolen. The accused defended himself good-humoredly, treating the affair as a friendly difference of opinion. The Bench dismissed the case, which they said never should have been brought into Court.
