LIGHT AT THE THEATRE.

TO THK KDITOB. Slß,—l wish to protest against the action of the management of the Carrie Swain company in not providing more ljght for the benefit of those occupying the pit. Last night the light was bo scantily provided that no one could read the programme without resorting to the dangerous practice of lighting matches. If it is tho object of the management to procure all the necessary gas for the stage, why not light the jets and turn them down during the progress of the play ? Hoping that the management will Bee their way to remedy this altogether unnecessary evil, and thus allow those in the pit to read their programmes—l am, etc., More Light. Dunedin, January 4.
