(Received December 6,1887, at I*4o a.m.) The French provincial journals, referring to the election of the President, rejoice at the peaceful termination of the crisis in that country. The Continental Press generally express satisfaction at the result of the difficulty, and view the election of M. Carnot as a peaceful augury. [Special to Press Association.] LONDON, December 5. (Received December 6, 1887, at 1.30 a.m.) The prospectus of the Mount Allen Silver Mining Company of Queensland has been issued. The capital is L 200,000, The ‘ Morning Post ’ publishes a statement to-day to the effect that an American Fenian plot has been frustrated, which had for its object the murder or capture of the Marquis of Hartington during his visit to Dublin. M. Goblet Ims been summoned to form a Ministry, and it is expected to include General Ferron and MM. Eouvier and Flourens. The latest bulletins give hopeful accounts of the Crown Prince of Germany’s condition.
