At the wool sales to-day the catalogue submitted to auction comprised 10,(i00 bales. Spirited competition was evinced for the various lots, the tone of the sales being decidedly (irresr. Superfine or finest qualities of greasy wool ruled &bQut Id in advance of the price obtained at last wool sales. Medium and inferior greasy were fully id dearer. Scoured wools generally realised an advance of Id to Id per lb. December 3, At to-day's sale 9,900 bales were submitted, The market was steady. The present series of colonial sales closes on the 10th inst. [Special to Press Association.] LONDON, October 3, At the sales during the past fevv days there has been increased animation in business, and a general rise of id per lb took place. Australian and Cape best greasy sometimes showed an advance of Id. The advance in scoured sorts was less marked. The number of bales catalogued for the series was 101,000 bales, of which 8,000 were withdrawn.
