A good race then took place between the two remaining men ; Zielc, however, proving best man, and winning by about fifty yards. 129 Yards Hurdle Race. J. Owen .. .. .. .. 1 R. Gillies .. • .. .. .. 2 Time, 21 3-5 see. In the final heat of this race, which resulted as above, Owen and Fulton fell over the sixth hurdle. It at first appeared as if Gillies was not to be troubled, but Owen, who had quickly picked himself up, passed Gillies at the last hurdle, coming in the winner by a yard. In the first heat Gillies was first and Owen second, and in the second heat Fulton had a walk-over. One-mile Handicap. J. Hunter (scratch).. .. .. 1 W. Anderson (00yds) ~ ~ 2 T. In the last round there only remained Hunter, Anderson, Coutts, and Haggitt. The scratch man flatted off full of running, and quickly passed the other peds. Haggitt eventually .withdrew.
