The amount of revenue collected at the Customhouse on goods cleared to-day (or consumption was Lt ,027 IBs 6d. Mr M, Pym sold to-day the mortgagor’s interest in those parcels of land, containing by admeasurement 3 roods 27.0 poles, being allotments 3. 4, 5, and part of 2, block 14, township of Burnside, to the mortgagee, for LlO. James Whyte, Rattray street, reports the sale of the following freehold properties;—M. Attridg.’s section and cottage, High street, Dunedin, for L 210; also Mr Brownlee’s property, Ravensbourne, cottage and section, at LOO, to Mattnew Dandas ; Mr Crouse’s section and cottage, Caversham, at LllO, to Mr Sonell; ami section and four-roomed cottage, Forbury, to Mis Roley, at J.SO. MINING NOTES. A syndicate has been formed in Christchurch to test a lode in the Oxford district said to contain tin. THE LABOR MARKET. Mr Skene reports“ All is hiring now on stations, and plenty of work. It is impossible to supply dairy people fast enough. Other lines are quiet." He has placed lately 12 boys and lads at Bs, 10s, 12s, and 16s; 3 laborers, ißs ; 1 ploughman, 20s ; 1 station couple, L7E ; 2 greoms and gardeners, IBs and 20a ; 1 C )oU, at 30s ; 1 housekeeper, at L4O; 3 farm girls, 10s and 12s : 2 store lads, at 10a and 15s ; 2 female cooks, 12s and IBs. [By Thlbskafh.] Curistchorcii, December 2.—The wool sales were opened to-day, with large catalogues, principally of cross-bred wools. The attendance was good, and competition brisk. Prices all round were about Jd lower than the corresponding sales of las’ year. Sydney, December 2.—There is very little alteration in the prices of grain. New Zealand wheat is worth 3s to Ss 8d per bushel j New Zealand oats fetch Is I.W to 2s Id per bushel, as compared with Is lOd to 2s 2d last week. Maize is slightly weaker, and realties Ss 10d to 4s per 561b. The supply of potatoes is well kept up, and the average of 26s per ton Is all that pan be obtained. , Adelaide, December 2.—Shipping wheat Is at from 8e fid per bushel. Adelaide flour, town brands, L 9 to L 9 fis per too ; country brands, L 8 6s to LBlos.
