Tp THE EDEEOB, ; Sib, As Ml Wilk|nspn thought fit at the meeting'held in the Kaikorai School house on Thursday night to remark " that my statements ha(l been proved to be somewhat false,” et£., you wQ] perhaps {JlftW me to say that no statement or statements of Mr Wilkinson, whoever or however made, will gpt over the faotas stated by me—that “ I was waited upon, by one of the staff, who assured me that the feelings of the staff were in accord with those Of the Board and'the mimrity of the Oomjnittee ” Personally I regret that any of the a'taff should have got mixed up in the unpleasant business j but that will be shown after next meeting of Committee to have been the result of injudicious correspondence with the staff on the. part of the chairman (Mr Wilkinjon). j I donot feel at liberty at present.tosay is ittyas distinctly, agreed at last meeting of Committee, -at . the 'urgent request of Mr JVilkinson himself, that nothing further Should be said in public about the. relation between the staff and head-master until after the inquiry instituted by the Committee had fieen< completed, which has not been done; hence my surprise at seeing Mr Wilkinson’s |tateraent,-*I qp»i ets., R.
