TO THB EDITOB. Sib,- Publicans' licenses and grocers' bottle lioftnses, I submit, are much in need of Wholesome cutting down. What can members of Parliament do in this connection? A money reduction is not the only consideration. What means can be adopted so as to effect a sweeping rrduotion in the mischief wrought by tho effects of drink—to stamp out the long list of crimes, the robberies, ruin to families, suicides, and murders resulting from drink ? Oan education do anything to enforce the truth: — Ob. that men sbruld put an enemy into tbelr mouths to steal away their brains f —I am, etc, Cosmopolitan. Dunedin, October 15.
