(Reoelved Ootober 15,1887, at f 45a.m.) An all-night sitting of the Legislative Assembly took place last evening, owing to the stonewalling tactics of the Opposition when the Estimates came up for consideration. The Assembly did not adjourn until 2 p.m. to-day, haying sat since yesterday afternoon. SIR HENRY PARKES. SYDNEY, October 14. Much sympathy is expressed with Sir Henry Parkes in his difficulties. In the Assembly to-day the Premier vindicated his position, and challenged a vote of the House of confidence in him or otherwise. MORE LABOR TROUBLES. ADELAIDE, October 14. The strike of wharf hands continues, and the dissatisfaction of the men is increasing. Acts of violence are of frequent occurrence between the strikers and non-unionists. A crowd of 2,000 unionists assembled on the wharf to-day and prevented the non-union men from working. The police were powerless to afford protection to the latter. SMALLPOX IN TASMANIA. HOBART, October 14. The smallpox epidemio ia spreading rapidly. Forty-nine cases of the disease have been reported to the Sanitary Board, judlcial. The strike of the wharf hands has collapsed, the men giving way to the demands of their employers.
