The amount of revenue collected at tho Customhouse on goods e’eared to-day for consumption was L9OO Os Bd. There has been some improvement in business during the week. A stiady trade is being done in sugar; finest whites sellirg at L 26 10j to L 27, and greys L 25 10s to L 26. In teas the demand <s still slack, but we look for an improved business in ibis line after the arrival of the Whampoa in about two weeks, as several buyers are waiting her shipment before laying in stock. A good business is passing in dried fruits, and prices continue firm. Current quotation for currants is s}i; sultanas, 6Jd; elemes, 6J4 to 5Jd. Further parcels of kerosene have been shipped to Melbourne during the week. Stocks are now greatly reduced, and pries is in consequence hardening. We quote 150-test oil. Is 0J to Is 10d; and 130-test, Is Ed to Is fid. Id tinned fish silmo i is moving off more freely. Oooktail briogs 9j to 9s 3d; other brands, 8s 91. Sardines have been placed up to Ss fid tor halves, and 5a for quarters; oyster*, os 9d to 6s; lobsters, 8s 9d. The trade done in spirits has been up to the average, while ale nnd stout are in mere Inquiry. We quote BuHdog ale and stout. 11s fid to lie 91; Dauke’s, lls to lls 3d ; Boar’s Head, 10s 6J. There has not ueen such a run on woolpacks this weeks, but the quotation to arrive is from 3s to 3s 3d ; a small shipment came to hand on Tuesday, fir which 3s fid is wanted. Raw and boiled oil is selling up to 3s 2d ; colza, 3s fid ; coarse castor, 3*. Dresatd riee la in tail supply, and price in favor of buyers; Patna is scarce, and L2l [owept quotation. The following were the tenders received by the Oamaru Harbor Board for the supply of 700 tons Portland cement: —Dun>din Iron and Woodwate Company, L 3 3a lOd per ton; James M'Donald, L 3 4s 6J; R Donaldson, L 3 17s fid ; Neil and Co ,L 4 2s; J W. Humphrey and Cj., L 4 2s. THE LABOR MARKET.
