A QUERY.

TO THE EDITOR.

Sir,— Some two or three weeks ago a letter appeared in the Star, over the signature of “Charles J. Rae,” the writer challenging the advocates of the Bibie-in-schoois to meet him in open debate. My heart burns within me when 1 road the defiant words of this Goliath of the Philistines, and I have watched for the advent of another David in Israel. What a triumph it must be to those Lyceum people when Christian men show the white feather! Physical infirmity prevents me from attempting the task, but surely God’s Word has power to silence the scoffer ? Why then has he been allowed to again appear in print, and to mock at and triumph over our excellent Bishop. Are all our leaders and teachers afraid to face the infidel and the scoffer?-! am, etc., An Old Christian.
