THE DOCK TRUST BUSINESS.
TO TUB EDITOR. Sir,— The affairs of the Dock Trust have got into a very unsatisfactory oomiition. It is to ba hoped that the latest nominee of the Government (Mr Gourlcy), who has evidently given the finances of the Trust some attention, iray be able to biiag order out of chao 1 .
Mr Gourloy at last meeting ol tho Trust expressed his entire srtisfaction with its finance, and supported the disposal of the debentures at LOO. Is Mr Gourlcy prepared to say that tho Trust are iu a sound financial position, when they resolve to dispose of their LIOO debentures for LOO, costing the Trust for interest L 6 Us Id per cent., while tbe tl übor Board are obtaining HO7 10s for their LICO debentures, making tho intcrc t the Board pay L 4 13s per cent. V This may indicate a sound position in the estimation of such financiers as Mr Gourlcy, but I can’t sco it.—l am, etc., Sr Hilda. Dunedin, August 10.
