DUNEDIN CENTRAL.
TO THE EDITOB. Sib,—ln reply to your correspondents "Elector "and "Another Elector," permit me to say that I hare not the remotest intention of offering myself as a candidate at the present election. I consider that I owe my best services to those ratepayers who by their votes placed me as their representative in the City Council.—l am, etc., Mabk Sinclair. Dunedin, July 18. OTAGO CRICKETERS' ASSOCIATION. TO THE EDITOB. Sib,—Now that the Melbourne cricketers are in earnest in their endeavors to induce Dr W. G. Graoe to visit the colonies during the oqming season, would it not be a pity for us in New Zealand to miss the chance of seeing the champion playing here ? I think so. He is not likely to last much longer as the head of crioket, and neither is it likely that (should ho come this year) he will ever visit the colonies again. The chess associations have taken steps to Becure a visit from the world's champion draughts player, but we orioketers are allowing an opportunity to pass which we may hereafter regret. I would suggest that the 0.0. ABsociationcall a meeting of members at once to take steps in the matter, and that the other associations in the Colony be written to on the subject,—l am, etc., An Olij Cbiokbteb. Dunedin, July 18.
