A meeting of those favorable to the establishment of a Financial Reform Association was hdld last evening, about a dozen persons attending. Reduction of A|inisterial salaries and allowances, and curtailment of the legislative expenditure. Reduction of the number of members of the House of Representatives by at least one-fourth, and that the number of the members of the Legislative Council should not exceed one-ha’f of the number of the House of Representatives. Civil Service retrenchment by the amalgamation of offices and departments. lusistance On the equalisation of our revenue and expenditure. Resistance of any attempt to increase taxation, direct or indirect 'Decentralisation in-every possible way, and the improvement of the exb ting systems of local government.” Messrs Sinclair, Pearson, and Begg were appointed a provisional sub-comniittcc, and Mr D. H. Hastings secretary.
