THE AFGHAN REVOLT.
[By Electric Telegraph.—Copybight.l [Reuter's Telegrams.] CALCUTTA, June 12. Latest news from Afghanistan states that the Ameer, suspecting the loyalty of the garrison at Herat, is sending other troops to replace them. Two regiments at Herat have already deserted and joined the rebels. The Ameer has left Cabul to assume the command of the troops in operations against the rebels. (Received June 14, 1887, at 1.30 a.m.) Later advices from Afghanistan report that the statement that the Ameer has left Cabul to assume command of the troops operating against the rebels is untrue. [Special to Press Association.] LONDON, June 12. The Ameer of Bokhara is tempting the Afghan rebels to enlist under his standard.
