THE JUBILEE PARE.
TO THE EDITOR Sib,—ln this morning’s issue of your soft 1 temporary appears a paragraph stating that Messrs A, and J. A. Park have given their gratuitous services in connection with the survey of the Jubilee Park. So far so well. But should not the plans be submitted to the public for inspection, seeing that they are supplying the money ? I have a notion that the main read leading through the park will be the best and shortest route to the Township of Belloknowes, and it will be rather much of a good thing if the public, under the guise of forming a park, have to pay for a metalled road to that township. I would suggest that no graded road be formed on any part of the park, or, if there is, that each end shall be protected with a gate or chains to prevent dray traffic. If such be not done, I am persuaded that all the traffic from town to that township will be by the park road.—l am, etc.. Watchdog. Dunedin, June 7.
