THE JUBILEE CELEBRATION IN DUBLIN. LONDON, May 30,

It is announced that the celebration in Dublin of Her Majesty's Jubilee takes place during the last week in June. The proceedings will be attended by a member of the Royal Family.

THE IMPERIAL INSTITUTE. LONDON, May 30.

The Committee of the Imperial Institute have prepared, and the Prince of Wales has approved, a scheme whereby the governing body of the Institute shall consist of 100 members. Forty-five will represent the United Kingdom, fifteen India, and thirty the colonies, and of this number ten will be Australian. Ten governors will also be nominated by the Queen.

LONDON, May 28.

A disturbance has occurred at Arran, a tax collector being stoned by a determined band of islanders. The police who escorted him away were also stoned, and in defence fired on the disturbers, wounding several of them.

The fire which originated in the New York tramway stables was got under at six yesterday morning. One life was lost. The stables, besides the horses, contained thirty tramcars and an enormous quantity of fodder, the whole of which were destroyed. Twenty' other buildings were also burnt down.

The unemployed in Dublin held a demonstration to-day. Forming into a procession, they marched through the city, carrying a black flag surmounted with a skull and orossbones. The gathering was dispersed by the police.

Sir H. Holland haß informed Mr Chesson that further inquiry into the treatment of the Natives at Perth (W.A.) is unnecessary. He upholds the dismissal of Inspector Mayne, and states that he is arranging with the Admiralty for a more efficient control of the pearl-shell fishery.

(Received May 31,1887, at noon.) The Vatican has approved of the acts of the Plenary Council at Sydney. Another fifty Governors will be appointed if the Colonial Institute and other societies affiliate themselves to the Imperial Institute. New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Queensland, Tasmania, New Zealand, and the Cape will have two each. Tho mode of nomination has not yet been decided on. The Mayors and the provinces will elect seventeen.

The Cardiff Council have refused to present an address of welcome to Mr Gladstone on his arrival there.

Both Hanlon and Gaudaur are in splendid health, and each is confident that he will win the match to-day for the championship of America.

At the Jubilee meeting at Wimbledon, a prize will be offered for Victorian cadets.
