Auckland, May 14.—Tho preliminary inquiry into the wreck of the Lalla Roskh was held to-day before tho Collector of Customs. The evidence showed that the Vessel was watcr-logge4 and her engines disabled before the beaoh was reached. Terrible weather was encountered in the Bay of Plenty. The mainsail and mizzen were bath split, and all hands baling with buckets; tho vossol rolling in a heavy sea and in danger of sinking. She was Owned by Fleming, Betty, Daniels, and Co., of Gisbome, and was not Insured. Her carge of grass-seed for Auckland was partly insured. Auckland, May 14.—Tho ketch Frltbjoy has been wrecked In Kennedy Bay during a heavy easterly gale. The crew wore all saved. The vessel was not Insured.
