ECCLESIASTICAL CHANGES. u'. HOME, April 26. (Received April 27,1887, at 10.80 p.m.) . His Holiness the Pope has created six new Episcopal sees and four vicarages in Australia and Oceania. The new sees which have been created are for Grafton and Wilcannia, New South Wales; Sale and Gippsland, Victoria; Port Augusta, South Australia; and Christchurch, New Zealand. Vicarites will be appointed for Kimberley (Western Australia), Fiji, and Melanesia, which will comprise New Guinea. Ecclesiastical provinces will be created in Queensland, South Australia, and New Zealand, with an archbishopric for Wellington.
THE IRISH CRIMES BILL. LONDON, April 27. (Received April 2i, 1887, at 2.15 p.m.)
In the House of Commons last night, previous to going into Committee on the Crimes Bill, Mr Read moved that the House should not proceed with the measure until the Irish Land Bill has passed the Lords and been presented to the Commons. The Chief Secretary for Ireland stated that the Government were unable to accept the amendment. The debate stands adjourned until to morrow, when the division is expected to be taken.

The latest news from Afghanistan states that the Ghilzai revolt is rapidly spreading, It is reported that the Russian troops at Penjdeh have been reinforced recently.

The mails by the Massilia'and Ormuz were at Suez awaiting the arrival of the Nizam. The statement that the Queensland Steam Shipping Company had resolved on winding up voluntarily in order to amalgamate with the Australasian United Company is confirmed.
Mrs Barry is slightly better, and Bishop Barry returns in a month.

The Murchison grant has been awarded to Mr George Gaunne, of Queensland, for crossing Australia in 1861. (Reoeived April 28,1887, at 8 p.m.)
Three thousand five hundred Nonconformist ministers have faintly protested against coercion in Ireland. The Rev. Mr Spurgeon has written to the London Press urging ministers of the Gospel not to mix in politics. The Rev. Joseph Parker, Congregational minister of the City Temple, has replied to Mr Spurgeon, disagreeing with his sentiments.
The Marquis of Salisbury, replying to addresses of congratulations from the Conservative working men, said that all working men would be Conservatives if the Nonconformist Ministers would leave then alone,

NEW SOUTH WALES PARLIAMENT, SYDNEY, April 28. (Received April 28, 1887, at 2.15 p.m.)
A Bill has been introduced for the creation of a sixth judgeship.
The Minister of Justice is about to intro duce a Bill prohibiting sweeps on races and consultations. The Premier has cabled to the Conference delegates that he is prepared to submit the Imperial defence proposals to Parliament. H.M.S. TYNE. SYDNEY, April 28. The troopship Tyne passed Green Cape flying,a flag at half-mast. The nature of the accident is still unknown.
