THE INTERPOVINCIAL DRAUGHTS MATCH.
The annual match between the players of Otago and Canterbury comes off on Saturday first in the Club room, Baldwin Hotel, Princes street. Great interest is being taken in the event, and the Canterbury team is a very strong ono, viz, Messrs R. Boswell, W. B. Hood, R. M'Laren, A. Craighead, T. Menzios, 11. W. Koy, J. O. Josling, and D. Reese, MH R The Otaro team will % he Messrs W. M'llwtiok (Invercargill), James Dickson and James Christie (Portobeilo), Hugh Montgomery (Pott Chalmers), and W. Houston. R. Barclay, O. Foreman, and David R. Hay (Dunedin). Six games will be played by each pair as far as practicable. The players meet punctually at 10 a.m., and play will commence shortly afterwards, and will be continued during the day. It is expected the match will be over about five o’clock. The visiting team will afterwards be entertained at a banquet. All draught pDyers will be made welcome to witness the match, and as the game is now very popu'ar a large gathering is expected.
