A FATAL DOSE OF MORPHIA.
Dr Pemberton, who arrived in Wellington from South Africa about eight months ago, died last night rather suddenly. He had been suffering from insomnia, and, in order to obtain sleep, took a small quantity of morphia. Having slept longer than usual his wife became alarmed and sent for Drs Collins and Fell, who for twelve hours tried every means to restore consciousness but without success. The doctors are of opinion that but for excessive weakness the dose would not have been fatal. The deceased leaves a wife and six children,
