J, Fraser, LI Bs, repairs to a schooner; Official Assignee (re J. B. Lindsay) v. K. Mar tain, L 3 2s 4d, goods supplied; J. B. Lindsay (for whom Mr Thornton appeared) v. Thomas Tike, 17s 3d. , CITY POLICE COURT. (Before Messrs J. Hyman and H. F. Hardy, J.P.s.) Drunkenness—For this offence Mary M‘GaMum , against whom there were twentywine previous convictions, was fined 20s, in default forty-eight hours’ imprisonment; Elizabeth Lindsay was sent to prison for fourteen days. . Larceny.— Beppo Bornechi , a Maltese, was charged with stealing, on the 9th Igst., a gold ring, valued at L 3 10s, the property of Richard Lindros.—From the evidence it appeared that prosecutor was boarding at the Wharf Hotel, where accused was cook. On Wednesday last prosecutor lost his ring in the house, and accused assisted him in searching for it. Subsequently accused pledged the ring at Myers’s pawn shop for 12s.—Accused admitted having found the ring and pledged it.—The Bench said that accused had laid himself open to si* months’ imprisonment, but there being nothing known against him he would be let off with a fine of 20s, or four days’ imprisonment, in addition to refund to the pawnbroker .the 12s advanced on the ring. , 111-treating a Horse. Mary Wads -; worth pleaded guilty to a charge of cruelly! illtreating a horse by working.it while it, had an open sore.—Accused was fined os' and costs. ___
