CITY FOLIOS COURT. (Before Messrs D. Brent and M. Pym and General Fulton, J.P.s.) Riotous Behavior. Janet Oliver was charged with riotous behavior in Manse street on the 20th ult., being a bomtnoh prostitute. Mr Catomore appeared for the accused, who was discharged. , (Mr Pym here left the Bench.) Throwing Stones, John Saywdl and Thomas Vintier (aged ten years), for throwing stones at South Dunedin on the 3rd hist., were each fined 10s and costs, in default seven days’ imprisonment. 111-treating Horses.— John TFclsfc pleadid guilty to ill-treating a horse by working it while it had ojißn sores under the harness. Mr A. Bathgate appeared for the Society for the Provi ntion of r’ruolty to Animals.—The defendant was fined L2 and costs, in default seven days imprisonment. Edward Dcdton was charged with ill-treating a horse by over-driving it and cruelly flogging it, near Saddle Hill, Green Island, arid at Dunedin, on the 20th inst. Mr Bathgato appeared for the prosecution, and Mr Stanford for the defence.—The defendant was fined 5s and costs. Stealing from the Person. Margaret Clark alias Toogood and Polly Price alias Toogood were charged with having on the 2nd inst., in Hanover street, stolen from the person of George Bromner a LlO n te and a silver watch and albert chain, of the value of Ll9 10s.—Mr Solomon appeared for the prosecution, and Mr Catomore for the defendant,—The informant, a master-mariner, stated that on the afternoon of the 2nd inst. he went into a brothel in Hanover street, kept by the accused. He was slightly under the influence of drink, He had a glass or two of stout, for which ho paid 4s or ss, and he fell asleep. On awaking about half-past eight o’clock ho found he had been robbed of his watch and money. He wont out, and seeing Constable Dale reported the matter to him —Alexander Mackay, in the employ of J. Ford, George street, gave evidence as to changing a LlO note for the accused (Clark) on Wednesday last.— Jeannio Knight, who was imprisoned _in a cell along with the accused (Price) on Wednesday, relatul a conveisatiou which had taken place between 'them. Price had admitted taking tiro informant’s money.—Eliza Litzenbcrger, dealer in clothing, stated that the accused came to her shop in George street on Wednesday night, and Clark asked her to take charge of a purse containing L 8 for her. Witness did so.—The accused were committed for trial, bail being allowed in their own recognisance for LSO, and two sureties of L 25 each.

Tho charge of receiving the stolen property proftrred against John Moore was withdrawn.
