NEW SOUTH WALES BUDGET PRO POSALS.

SYDNEY, February 4.

The Treasurer estimates the deficit for the current year at nearly L 1,700,400. Ho proposes to levy a tax of a halfpenny in the pound on real estate, the capital of all banks, dividends payable by companies, and all descriptions of goods stored. The probate duties will also bo increased, Mr Burns expects to realise LG50.000 per annum from the projected new taxation. SYDNEY, February 5.

The Treasurer also announced that*the Government intended to place a loan on the London market in May or June next. The Minister of Justice (Mr Hcydon) has resigned his portfolio, because ho disapproves of the projected property tax.
