FOOTBALL.
The Kaikorai First played twenty-five of the inhabitants of Roslyn, the gamo resulting in a draw, no score having been made. Before play started Miss Conway handed to Captain Douglas a banner presented by the ladies of Roslyn. The game proved to be more oven than was anticipated, for the twenty-five, more numerous and more weighty, lacked combination. For the citizens, Hill, Sonntag, Hoare, and Dickinson were most prominent amongst the forwards. Keogh and Elliott did a lot of collaring, and Kemnitz and Wedderspoon also played well. The Kaikorai men, without exception, played hard, several of them —notably Henderson—being within an ace of scoring. During the gamo the Kaikorai Band played several selections. The match ' Daily Times' v. Fergusson and Mitchell's resulted in the former being victorious by 7 points to 4. Ross kicked a goal for the victors, but in the last spell the Fourth Estate were very sorely pressed. —Caversham Second were defeated by Mosgiel Factory Second by two tries to nil. — Musselburgh beat National First by two tries to nil.
