FOOLING A CORPORATION.

At a recent meeting of the Town Council of Dungarvan, County Wexford, a letter w»b received from "Joseph Rogers, Special Commue'oner of t'ae World's JFair and Cotton Centennial Exhibition, New Orleans. Li. ,U. 5.A.," and dated from the Grecham Hotel, Dublin, In the letter, which was officially read, Mr Rogers stated that he had been deputed by tbo Government of the United States to obtain good photographs or oil paintings of all European cdobritios for the art department of the exhibition. He recognised the fact that Bnch a collection would bo very incomplete without a picture of 20 eminent a body m the Dungarvan Town Cjuaoll, and he therefore begged to know if they would do him the honor of being photographed in a group at his expense. Most of the members promptly and cordially agreed to btoome Dictorially famous through the means offered by Mr Rogora, but one ecaptic suggested a doubt as to the existence of that gentleman. The Americans, he said, had always a keen eje to bu3ineß3, and there wai no doubt that they wruld make a good thing out of It by the sale of hundreds of copies of the ploturo of the Dungarvan councillors.
