At a representative meeting of the Liberal associations, trades, and societies of Glasgow who took part in the Glasgow Franchiso demonstration, it was agreed enthusiastically that, considering the eminent services rendered by Mr Gladstone to the country, a. rnovement be started to erect a monument to his honor in Glasgow.
