OCEAN BEACH DOMAIN BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Ocean Beach Domain Board was held to-day; present— Menus J. P. Maitland (chairman), Baldwin, G, G. Kus ell, H Driver, and R Rutherford. The following letter from the Mayor, as chairman of the Local Board of Health, was read: —"The Local Beard of Health consider* tug it necessary to be prepared, in case smallpox should appear in this City, with a temporary building which would be ready for the reception of patients if required, I have the honor to request permission to erect such a building on a site at the sandhills near Lawyers Head. I enclore a plan showing the proposed rite, and as the matter is one requiring to be dealt with promptly, I shall be obliged by an early reply.” John Wells intimated bis wU.ingness to accept the office of ranger of the domain, and the matter was referred to the chairman to arrange. A communication from the Inspector of Police was read with reference to certain persons removing sand from the hills. This also was referred to the chairman, with power to act. Consideration of the Board’s by-laws was held over till a future meeting.
