STATUTORY NOTICE IS HEREBY GT '• EN that a Special Meeting of tho Otago Harbor Board will be held on Thursday, tho 10th January. 1884, at 2 o’clock p.m., when the following Bye-laws will be considered, discussed, adopted, or amended, as the Board may determine. That Bye-law 165 shall read—“ There shall be levied and payable upon all goods and merchandise (except Goals or Timber) discharged at the Port of Dunodin (except at the Railway Pier, Port Chalmers) a Harbor Improvement Kate of three shillings per ton measurement of packages of all goods packed in bales, casks, oases, crates, cans, drums, sacks, or tanks; and on all other goods three shillings per ton weight. But, If 40 cubic feet of any goods by measurement shall exceed 2,2401bs In weight, then the said goods shall bo charged by weight, and not by measurement.” Live stock: Sheep, 2d per head; Cattle, 2s fid per head ; Horses, 2s fid per head ; Pigs, 3d per head. Carcasses; Sheep, Id; Cattle, Is fid ; Pige, Id. Bye-law 165 a shall read —“There shall be levied and payable upon Timber and Coals discharged at the Port of Dunedin (except at the Railway Pier, Port Chalmers) a Harbor Improvement Kate of two shillings per ton by weight or measurement.” Bye-law Ififi shall read—“ There shall bo levied and payable upon all goods and merchandise (except Coals and Timber) discharged at the Railway Pier, Port Chalmers, a Harbor Improvement Kate of one shilling and one sixpence per ton measurement of all goods packed in bales, casks, cases, crates, cans, drums, sacks, or tacks; and on all other goods one shilling and sixpence per ton weight. But, if 40 cubic feet of any goods by measurement shall exceed 2,2401bs In weight, then the said goods shall be charged by weight, and not by measurement,” Bye-law 160 a shall read—“ There shall be levied and payable upon Timber and Ooais discharged at the Railway Pier, Port Chalmers, a Harbor Improvement Rate of one shilling per ton by weight or measurement.” Byelaw 169 shall read —“There shall be levied and payable upon the following goods and merchandise exported from the Port of Dunedin a Harbor Improvement Rate (Wool, per bale, 9J) Live stock. Cattle ... 2a fid Is Gd Sheep ... 2d Id Pigs ... 3d Id Horses ... 2s lid And upon all other goods and merchandise exported from the Port of Dunedin a Harbor Improvement Rate of one shilling per ton measurement of packages of all goods packed in bales, casks, cases, crates, cans, drums, sacks, or tanka ; and on all other goods (except those hereafter enumerated) one shilling per ton weight.
