Tho Water Supply Committee to have power to act forthwith by way of determining the agreement under which tho Council rents tho said premises in Stuart street Cr Gorr : That a compotent working Inspector be appointed to take chargo of the Silverstream water-race and reservoir; such inspector to rcsido on the works, and have power to employ and dischargo men, subject to the City Surveyor's approval. Salary to be at the rate of L2OO per annum, with a free house. Cr Barnes: That tho portion of roadway within the City between the Kerosene Bond and Hayos's Hotol be forthwith metalled full width, Gin deep. Cr Fish : That tho resolution passed by the Council on Tuesday tho 2Gth Inst—"That the offices of Town Clerk and Treasurer be amalgamated"—be rescinded.
