The following ia the Order Paper for Tueß. day:— Or Barnks : That tho Council's stone-crushing operations at Calder's Quarry, North-cast Valley, bo resumed to tho extent of taking such metal from Mr Caldcr as the Council is under contract to take from him ; so that screenings can be available, as well as metal, for footpaths in the City, as certain streets are now in bad repair. Further, that I,oooyds metal, already broken, from Woodhaugh Quarry, be devoted to repair the main road through the City. Or Allen: That tho Wator Supply Committee bo requested to ascertain whother it Is practicable to mako arrangements to Btore the water plant, which is now kept at the Stuart street leasehold promises, at tho municipal yards and buildings, Octagon ; thus to save the rental (LIOO per annum) paid for the Stuart street premises. Tho Water Supply Committee to have power to act forthwith by way of determining the agreement under which tho Council rents tho said premises in Stuart street Cr Gorr : That a compotent working Inspector be appointed to take chargo of the Silverstream water-race and reservoir; such inspector to rcsido on the works, and have power to employ and dischargo men, subject to the City Surveyor's approval. Salary to be at the rate of L2OO per annum, with a free house. Cr Barnes: That tho portion of roadway within the City between the Kerosene Bond and Hayos's Hotol be forthwith metalled full width, Gin deep. Cr Fish : That tho resolution passed by the Council on Tuesday tho 2Gth Inst—"That the offices of Town Clerk and Treasurer be amalgamated"—be rescinded.
