RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT,

(Before W. L. Simpson, Esq., R.M.) D. Proudfoot v. R. Goodison.—Claim, Lls, for trespass by a horse. Mr Haggitt for plaintiff. Judgment waa given for L 5 and costs. Terence Dunn v. Francis M'Sheen.— Claim, LSO, damages for assault. Mr Denniston for plaintiff, Mr Stout for defendant. On November 15 the parties were in the Kensington Hotel, the plaintiff being the worse for liquor. Defendant challenged him repeatedly to wrestle, and on his refusing Btruck hi in three blows on the face with his clenched fist, inflicting a nasty wound with a large nugget ring he wore on his finger. Dr Reimer said the wound would leave a permanent scar.—Plaintiff swore that he waa confined to his house for a fortnight through the injuries he received.
