Mr Berry stated in the Assembly that the Ministry had recommended the (.-inventor to dissolve Parliament, aud that the Marquiaof Normanby had accepted the recommendation unconditionally, and will grant a dissolution before Christmas. A large majority of the Upper House are adverse to counsel's opiuionthat the Government Reform Bill should not be sent to the Legislative Council. The ' Daily Telegraph' was nonsuited in its libel action, the Court of Appeal deciding that a corporation -were unable to sue for slander. SYDNEY, December 9.
No prizes were awarded to New Zealand exhibits at the cattle show, but Mr M'Lean's bull Duke of Newcastle was commended. The trial of the bushrangers has been adjourned until to-morrow. December 10.
