A HIGH CHURCH.
, TO THE. EDITOR. ??^>— From time to time letters appear in the Star from " High Churohman," and one generously offers LlOto aid the promulgation ol his tenets. Although not wishing to enter into a newspaper controversy, I would like to utter a word of caution to all who may be .fu- 3^ 7 by the species arguments of High Churchman.". A general, and to my thinking; correct opinion prevails that High Church means but a means to an end. We have Jesuit Fathers amongst U3, and they would not be obeying the dictum of their general if they allowed a field such as Dunedin presents to lie untilled. To say because other large cities have High Churches, Dunedin should have one, is about on: a.par with saying that because other large-oitieshave the plague Dunedin should have it also. There cannot be much doubt that more converts to, the Church of Rome have been made since Ritualistic practices have become so common, than in a similar .period prior to theu-advent,—Jam, etc., ~'•'• .. _ , Warning.
