•Mr Ramsay, addressing Mr Reynolds, said a* tins was the last ordinary meeting of the .'.Board, and as -the- mtmbers were hot again tto sit under the chairmanship of that gentleman, as he had seen" fit to retire from the position he, had so long held, he (Mr Ramsay) desired totnoyp a ypte'pf hearty thanks for the impartial and courteous manner in which he had conducted the' business during his term of office.—Mr .James Mills, in seconding the. motion, said, as .one of the oldest members of the Board; he thoroughly ■agreed with what had fallen from Mr Ramsay, and had to compliment Mr Reynolds upon the, fact that, though they often alilered .in opinion,.: his-treatment "of the membersJiad always been courteous and considerate to a degree.—The Hon. Mr Rky>Plds, in acknowledging the vote, assured •the members that though leaving'the Board reasons for which need not be mentioned, although he'might state that he had a great number of qtber thingsnow to attend to—he would always take a lively interest in its proceedings and progress, and promised that if, in his capacity as a member of the Legislature, it was thought his. services would, be of use to the Board in any way, he ■wbulddevote his best attention to anything under'his notice.—(Hear, hear.)
