TTaltakl arrived early this morning frem Oatnaru. In addition to other cargo she brings 178 bale* wool for the ship Waipa, 132 bales for tho Calypso, and 76 bales for the Anaii. Mr Pilot Kelly reports that ho has taken soundings on the bar every favorable opportunity throughout the post, mouth, and tho least water obtained was 16ft in the channel across the bar at low water on the 21st ijwt: On the 25th,' the Harbor-master (Captain Thomson) was present with him when soundings were again taken, which showed 16ft. fall in the same channel and 18ft. in the north ehannel at low water. Ou the 28th Inst the ship Eaterpe sailed with a full cargo, drawing 28ft 6in.; Mr Pilot Paton In charge Captain Thomson was on board of the vessel when she cressed the bar, and noticed that she stirred the sand up very slightly. The bar is at its worst Just now, and the Harbor-master looks for an improvement in the depth of water on it a* soon as the S. W. winds set in strong, to exercise' their full iufl'ienoe on the tides, which have been very low since the middle of NovemW last, easterly and N.W. winds prevailing during thut period. _^ Shipping Telegrams.
