CRICKET.
The match Carisbrook v. Timaru played yesterday was won by Timaru by three runs; the scores being—Carisbrook 63 and 45, Timaru 50 and 63. For Timaru Fraser contributed 12, Rothfall 17; for Carisbrook Wyncks 14 and 9, Rose 21.
The match at Auckland, between the Taranaki representatives and Auckland commenced in the Domain this morning; the weather being fine and the attendance large. Auckland went in first and made 122, the individual scores being Wood and Lankham 20 each, Blunden 19, and Grierson 13. The Taranaki team made 95 in their first innings, including G. Bayley 29, Bewley23, and Davis 17. ' Auckland then went in for the second innings and made 76. The bowling and fielding of the Taranaki men were so good that only one " extra " was scored.'
