MR VESEY STEWART.

The 'Tyrone Constitution' of the 28th September gives a lengthy account of rejoicings at Ballygawley in honor of the visit of Mr Vesey Stewart to his native place on his return from New Zealand. Long pro cessions, headed by bands, went out to meet him, and the enthusiastic crowd, not content with this, dragged him from his carriage and carried him on their shoulders to the town. When they reached the Stewart Arms Hotel he was allowed to regain his feet, but only on condition that he should address the crowd. This he did, speaking in glowing terms of his adopted country I*ew Zealand—of course, dwelling specially upon the. Katikati settlement. Then, with the rector of the village, the Rev. D. G. Smyth, and his brother, Captain Hugh Stewart, the hero of the day was compelled to head the crowd again, and lead them through the principal streets of the town; and finally, at 10 o'clock at night he reached his destination Martray Castle, the residence of his father. Altogether the account in the Tyrone paper reals like a leaf from one of Lever's novels.
