SALE OF THE UNIVERSITY BUILDING.

A special meeting of the University Council was held this day, when an offer from the general manager of the Colonial Bank of JSew Zealand for the purchase of the University Budding was received. After consideration the following resolution was unanimously adopted, viz. : That tho offer of the Colonial flank of New Zealand of L 27,000 be accepted, iu terms of Mr Cowie's letter, aud tlmt the Eegistrnr be instructed to inform th* general nnuaror tlsat, in the statement of ihe lui-uis i«f s;ile, the University clock and bell were not considered fixtures appertaining to the building, it having been the intention of the Council to reserve theui for tho now University.
