It would be well for the defendants tq understand that the Bench iqadc the penalty so low in the Relief that immediate steps wan'd bo taker, to bring the building under the Corporation regulations, and he nped not tell them that they Were liable to a tine of LlO for every day tha*. the building remained in its present state. The judgment would carry professional c<is's and costs of Court. Assault. —John Cooney, for assaulting Constable Henderson while in the execution of las duty, was sentenced to fourteen days’imprif on(pent, with hard labor. (Before His Worship the Mayor, and J. M. Ritchie, Esq., J. 8.) Drunkenness. —John Smith was fined 40s, in default fourteen drys’ imprisonment. Maintenance. John Donnoghuc was charged by Benjamin Britton, master of the Industrial Schoo], with disobeying an order of the Court, binding him to contribute towards the support of his son, an inmate of that institution. -It appealed that ten shillings was owing, besides costs of Coiirt—An order for the payment of all arrears \yas made. Destroying Timber on the Town Belt.— Bridget Power was charged with cutting trees growing on the Town Belt.--ibis being thfirst case of f;he kind fhe Bench inflicted the nominal penalty of one shilling without costs.
