Subsequently at -f • delegates from the vaiions friendly and trade societies, the following reso utiou was carried That the com mittee appointed to trj' and organise a Working Men’s Club return the cheques to Messrs Larnach and Clarke, with an intimation that some excepting having been taken to the conditions upon which the donations had been offered, the committee believe it will be better to allow any committee that may be formed by the working classes to draw up ru'es in the first instance, and that when such rules are made public Messrs Larnach and Clarke can re-offer their donations if they see fit."
