THE VOLUNTEERS.
The third and final competition of the Artillery Company for their representatives in the Colonial prize tiring was held on Saturday morning last, at the Anderson’s Bay Rifle Eange, upon the same conditions as the two former, viz., 6 shots at 200, 300, 400, 500, and 600 yards ; class targets ; Hythe position at the first range, any position at the others ; Government rifles, and ammunition, &c. The shooting was not so good as at the other competitions, especially at the 300 yards range, where the otiopnd has been almost pulled down, renderIhg' it r almost impossible to ijre from it. The weather was very unfavorable, especially at the last two ranges, a strong wind blowing from the left front. Lieutenant Muir, and gunners Reid and Cato, are the representatives of the company at the final contest. The following are the scores of those above 60 points with the totals of the three competitions: —
