THE REBEL PRISONERS.
To the Editor of the Evening Star.
Sir, “M. A. H.” has ru bed inko print, and boldly asserts that to prove to the world at large that wo still have “ British pluck,” or “Saxon self-esteem,” our Volunteers -houLl turn out and meet the Maori prisoners i.n their arrival at the jetty, ami with trumpets sounding and banners gaily flouting the brgbt blue southern skies, escort them to our prison. Isn’t the idea grand? Is’nt i; immense—worthy the glowing imagination of a man like “M. A. H.,” or, perhaps more properly, a “M. U. F. F.” —Yours, &c. Q.
