WASTE LAND BOARD.

Tuesday, 21st Sept.

The Waste Land Board met yesterday. On Mr F. Dillon Bell’s application for 400 acres of laud under date JBth September, 1869, it was resolved that “under the circumstances of the arrang' ment between Mr Bell and the Provincial Government which effected the opening of the main trtmk road to the interior, on which Mr Bell agreed to give up one acre of his property on the flat for two acres on the hill feet and sides as selected ; on this application the Waste Land Boar d consents to the granting of the same under the provisions of clause 83, Waste Land Act, -1866.” It was resolved on the proposition of the Secretary of Land and Works, to open the surveyed blocks on Mr Dillon Bell’s run, Shag Valley for sale, and that the same be gazetted. Wednesday. It rvas agreed to refer to the Provincial Solicitor to draw up the forms of sale of Run 436 in accordance with the resolution of the Executive Council under clause 93. The land to be advertised for sale by auction under clause 94. Upset price, one-eigbth of a penny per acre.

The application of Joseph bobertson to cut tiax on the unsold portion of Outram was acceded to, the applicant not to have exclusive privilege.

On the application of William Darling for John Booth, fur a lease of a site for a llax mill, at Blucskin, comprising two acres, for the term of seven years, it was resolved to grant it under the 52nd clause, the site being of special value on account of its being adapted for a mill site. The rent to be L 5 per year, and the survey to be made at the applicant’s expense.

Connell and Moodie’a application on behalf of Reginald M‘Donald, for part of section 5, block° 6, North Tuakitoto, was agreed to. To be put as laud of special value, having been so long reserved from sale, at L 3 per acre. To be sold at Tokoinainro, by Mr Cap-dick, auctioneer. Driver. Connell and Moodie’s application on behalf of Cl irk and Holt, to have the nominal acreage of Bun 41b (for sale on tbe 23rd) reduce I, was declined. James Doughty’s application, as agent for Black and Smithie, for protection for a road to get their timber to the main road, or for a Base of portion of section 32, block 1, Akatore, was declined.
