GENERAL ROAD BOARD.

A meeting was held to-day when the following business was transacted. Gillies and Street, as agents for Charles Hammond, made application to purchase quarry reserve, section 73, block 2, Waikouaiti district. Referred to Government for report of road department. Gillies and Street, as agents for Maitland Bros., made application to purchase half of of section 19, block IX, Waitabuua East. It was agreed to be taken as marked off on the plan ; a road to be reserved on east side. The application of Gilmour Bros, for a deviation of road line, block IV, Shotover Districts, was declined. J. D. Feraud made application to purchase sections 41 to 45 and 67 to 69, block 11, Leaning Rock, held under agricultural lease. Referred back to Government. Mr MTlroy’s application for an ccupation license to quarry stone, block 3, Oamaru, was granted. Mr Doughty, as agent for James Hopkins, applied to purchase section 52, block 3, Tuapeka, held under agricultural lease, —referred to Government. Assessment on runs 416, 418, 423, 431, and 435, —decision of the Board to be given on the applications. Applications refused, and 416, 418, 423, and 431, to be put up to auction, per clause 94, W. L. Act., on Thursday, 23rd September, upset price £d per acre, subject to assessment.
